February Crochet Love

I have a lovely flower heart pattern for you. I will preface this by saying that this is not my pattern, but is available online at various locations in another language (Russian, perhaps?) as a symbol chart. Here is my offering of that iteration.

Flower Heart

Requirements: 
4mm crochet hook
10g of yarn
darning needle

Abbreviations (US Terminology):            
sl st       slip stitch
tr          triple crochet
dc          double crochet
ch          chain
sc          single crochet
rep         repeat
st(s)       stitch(es)
sp(s)       space(s)
beg         beginning
sk          skip
yo          yarn over

Special Stitches:
2 dc cl:    (yo, insert hook into indicated st/sp, yo and draw a loop through to the front of work, yo, draw through 2 loops) 2 times, yo, draw through all loops on hook.

3 dc cl:    (yo, insert hook into indicated st/sp, yo and draw a loop through to the front of work, yo, draw through 2 loops) 3 times, yo, draw through all loops on hook.

Picot:      ch the required number of sts (5 ch, for example), sl st in first ch st (ch sts make a loop).


Instructions:
4 ch, join with sl st to form ring (or start with Magic Ring).

Round 1:    2 ch (counts as 1 half completed dc),
            2 dc-cluster,
            5 ch,
            *3 dc-cluster,
            5 ch,
            rep from * 4 more times,
            sl st in top of beg dc-cluster to join (6 petals).

Round 2:    sl st into next 5-ch sp,
            3 ch (counts as 1 dc),
            6 dc in same 5-ch sp,
            1 ch,
            *[7 dc, 1 ch] in next 5-ch sp,
            rep from * 4 more times,
            sl st in top of beg 3-ch to join.
           
Round 3:    1 sc in same st,
            *[3 ch, sk next st, 1 sc in next st] 3 times,
            3 ch,
            sk next 1-ch sp,
            1 sc in next st,
            rep from * 4 more times,
            [3 ch, sk next st, 1 sc in next st] 3 times,
            3 ch,
            sl st in first sc st to join (24 ch-sps).

Round 4:    2 ch,
            [1 dc, 3 ch] in next 3-ch sp,
            [1 dc, 3 ch] in next 3-ch sp,
            [1 tr, 3 ch, 1 tr, 3 ch] in next 3-ch sp,

            [3 ch, 2 dc-cluster] in same st,

            [3 ch, 2 dc-cluster] in same 3-ch sp,
            rep from * to point of heart (sl st in 3-ch sp at point),
            5-ch picot in same 3-ch sp,
            sl st in same 3-ch sp,
            [3 ch, 2 dc-cluster] in same 3-ch sp,
            rep from * to middle of heart ending with sl st into middle of heart.

Finish:     Cut yarn, fasten off and weave in ends. Block work if necessary.
